About the Foundation
On January 22, 2001, the Gulf Coast lost a compassionate and true
hero with the passing of Tommie Agee. Throughout his professional
career, he came home to Mobile, Alabama, year after year, to raise
money for charity organizations.
Since the passing of the World Series hero, the Tommie Agee Charitable
Foundation has continued his passionate crusade and unwavering commitment
to Mobile and the Central Gulf Coast community. To date, the Foundation
has raised more than $1,000,000 for local nonprofit organizations.
The Foundation is led by Walter S. Dickerson (Chairperson), who
spends countless hours annually overseeing the day-to-day operations.
With the help of key leaders Eddie Brown (Co-Chairperson) Bill Clark
(Golf Tournament Director), Jeroy Carroll (Finance Director) the
Foundation Committee and the all volunteer staff, they plan and
prepare fun-filled activities that draw caring people across the
Gulf Coast together for a good cause.
The marquee event is the annual Tommie
Agee Charity Golf Classic. This October Tournament is sponsored
by heavyweights like Budweiser-Busch Distributing, the New York
Mets, Allstate Insurance, Coca-Cola Bottling, Sam’s Club and
Enterprise Car Rentals. A complete list of the generous Golf Classic
Sponsors and Hole Sponsors may be found on the Sponsors
page. Friends of Tommie’s show up in force each year to
once again honor his legacy. Baseball, Basketball, Football, Golf
and other sports stars alike all play to raise funds for the Foundation’s
needy charities. For a complete list of Celebrity Guests, please
see the Charity Events page.
From the proceeds of the Golf Tournament and other activities,
the Tommie Agee Foundation is proud to have helped so many organizations.

These Directors, Administrators and Committee Members – all
volunteer staff – work tirelessly year round to advance the
hopes and dreams of Tommie Agee. Because of their generosity, this
Foundation operates at less than 3% administrative cost annually
– that means that 97% of the money raised goes directly to
the charities mentioned above!!
Finally, the Foundation staff acknowledges the unwavering dedication
of Tommie’s widow, Maxcine, and his daughter J'Nelle. Their
constant support and attendance at events keeps Tommie’s memory
and legacy alive.
